I want to give it 4.5 stars. It’s almost perfect.
This is a very solid cooler and it will be my “meats and other things that need to stay super cold” cooler. I have a very practical but inexpensive Igloo cooler for drinks, condiments, and other things that are safe to get warmer.
Pros:
*Very solidly built. I could see this lasting a lifetime.
*The center divider is also a cutting board! Very clever. It comes with a basket, unlike some other expensive coolers, where the price isn’t the real price, like buying a car. I appreciate being able to just use this immediately, and it’s more honest, IMO. Nobody wants a cooler this expensive without a basket to keep things dry.
*With the divider, you could put dry ice in one side and keep frozen items. How luxurious to have ice cream on a hot day in the wilderness!!
*I love the red color. I’m tired of “tactical” colors and drab gear.
Cons:
*It’s quite heavy. This is a car-camping item for if you are away from a convenient ice source, and not something to take when every ounce matters. It’s built for keeping things cold, and that’s a tradeoff I’m happy to make, but it’s not my everyday cooler.
*The capacity is somewhat limited. If they come out with a larger cooler, you might look into that.
*It’s smelly when you first open it up. So you’ll need to air it out for some time.
Overall, I would recommend this cooler.
